Victoria City Councillor still pretends the message Council received is ‘unclear.’
She disparages the petitioners as exhibiting ‘mob rule.’
This is intemperate language and she owes us all an apology:

Mayor Dean Fortin’s authority to govern is seriously reduced after the AAP.
Formerly enjoying the knee-jerk support of the whole Council except Geoff Young, his hardcore support is now reduced to John Luton and Lynn Hunter.
The ethical authority to govern is now enjoyed by Councillor Young who made sure the rest of them understood the import of the petition:

Two former members of the Victoria City Council died recently: Mayor Michael Young and Councillor Murray Glazier.
Both helped preserve the Johnson Street Bridge and other heritage properties in Victoria during their time in office and both were influenced in doing so by former Mayor Peter Pollen:

Their foresight, prudence and wisdom stands in stark contrast to the aesthetic short-sightedness, fiscal recklessness and general foolishness of the present Council (with the exception of Geoff Young, of course!).
